Bandara Itami di Osaka Jepang memiliki ketepatan waktu sampai 93,85% dan menjadikannya bandara kecil yang paling tepat waktu. Masih di negara yang serupa, Bandara Haneda di Tokyo menempati posisi pertama dalam golongan bandara besar dengan ketepatan waktu sampai 93,85%.
Maskapai airBaltic, punya Lalvia juga memiliki ketepatan waktu yang baik. Telah dua tahun maskapai tersebut menempati posisi terbaik di dunia dengan persentase sebanyak 94,39.
Dua maskapai penerbangan Jepang, Japan Airlines dan All Nipon Airways, juga berada di posisi 5 besar yang paling tepat waktu. Berdasarkan OAG, ketepatan jam tahunan penerbangan di semua dunia semkain baik.
‘Bandara dan maskapai penerbangan merupakan aset yang paling mahal dan mereka ingin menerima kegunaan maksimum.” ungkap analis senior OAG, Josh Grant ke CNN.
“Peningkatan sejumlah pon pada persentase ketepatan jam merupakan suatu hal penting.”
Grant menyatakan, bahwa para penumpang yang sewot karena pesawat terlambat bisa dengan mudah memberitakannya melalui smarphone atau ponsel pintar.
“Terutama perkembangan Twitter. Penumpang akan melakukan tweet soal delaynya jadwal pesawat ketika mereka sedang menanti di bandara.
Dia juga menambahkan bahwa Jepang memperlihatkan kebudayaan dalam menghargai waktu.” Jepang memiliki penduduk yang mempunyai tradisi sangat tepat pada waktu.’ tutur Grant.
